Manga

One of the most interesting parts of the class was being introduced to all the different kinds of manga that is out there. Working with teens and younger kids it becomes extremely apparent that manga and anime are very popular especially among boys. It is interesting just how popular they are and the wide appeal that they have even 3rd and 12th graders like the same manga and anime. It’s also amazing that some of the anime that came out when I was young is still popular among little kids especially Dragon Ball Z. It was nice to read all the different manga for class because more often then not they seem to be pretty enjoyable and have strange storylines that you can’t help to be totally confused by and drawn into at the same time. My favorite was Deathnote. I loved how ridiculous the plot was and definitely plan to finish the series before the summer is over along with trying to start Naruto and Bleach which seem to be the most popular with the kids I work with. It was also nice to read some of the girly mangas which I had no familiarity with at all since for some reason all the girls I work with don’t like manga at all and I never really had any interest in it before. This semester has definitely left me with a desire to finish the series that we started and start the tons of others that have been recommended to me.
